My work always has a personal and self-reflective starting point. In my artistic practice, I research how societal norms of capitalist patriarchy relate to our behaviour as individuals, articularly in regard to intimacy, agency, and The Erotic (after Audre Lorde). I test this question against the backdrop of my personal relationships: Throughout the process of making work, I create ambiguous social settings and enter often uncomfortable situations with (ex-)lovers, friends, neighbours, acquaintances and strangers, which I then navigate and reflect on through photography and auto-ethnographic writing.
