TROSTKARTEN
2017, 120x170mm

Out of a research on coping with bereavement and the role of graphic design in the field of death and undertaking came the idea of changing the concept of condolence cards. While many offered cards are designed poorly and convey a rather impersonal message that refers to the deceased person, these condolence cards are fully addressed to the bereaved.
Abstract illustrations of landscapes are meant to create space for one’s own interpretation instead of communicating prefabricated emotions as many other condolence cards do. Combined with a short message addressed to the grieving person, these cards offer an elegant possibility to send condolences to distant relatives as well as to close friends.

This work has been exhibited at WEI SRAUM Designforum Tirol, Innsbruck.
