Researching Palestine
designed booklet, 2024; 155x210mm, 64 pages

Researching Palestine organized and edited by Chris Harding tackles questions of what it means to conduct research in Palestine and on Palestinian society. The authors originally met bi-weekly at Dar Jacir over the course of several months in 2023 in order to gather together in a space where they could discuss creative ideas relating to their research outside of the restrictions of the academy. The zine was intended to further their ideas, however, since October 2023 and the intensification/violent step-up of the 75+ year genocide of the Palestinian people, the authors reoriented their works, situating the developing horror in Palestine.
In 2024, the booklet was published at the Biennale di Venezia, as part of the exhibition South West Bank. Landworks, Collective Action and Sound by Dar Yusuf Nasri Jacir for Art and Research and Artists & Allies × Hebron

Curated by Chris Harding with texts by Chris Harding, Ramzi Nimr, Hanna Salmon, Raghad Hilal, Marta Wódz × Areej Ashbab, and Laura al-Tibi. Edited by Maria Khoury, Ala’ Abed, and Chris Harding. Designed by Lena Holzer. Supported by Dar Yusuf Nasri Jacir for Art and Research and Artists & Allies × Hebron.
