Johannes & Lydia
2018; 297x420mm, 65 pages
Johannes & Lydia is an illustrated book on the topic of ending an emotionally abusive relationship and the time of recovery. It tells the story all the way from the farewell until the retrieving of one’s self-esteem. Much like the actual psychological process of recovering from emotional pain such as heartbreak, the book is divided in three chapters: grief, rage and acceptance.
From black like grief to white like acceptance, the book contains the grey shades of each single healing phase.
It was the aim of this project to creatively face the pain of a failed relationship, let it influence the working process and eventually come to terms with it.
