JOHANNES & LYDIA
2018; 297x420mm, 65 pages
Johannes & Lydia is an illustrated book on the topic of breaking up a relationship and the time of recovery. It tells the story all the way, from the farewell until the retrieving of one’s self-esteem. Just like the actual psychological process one experiences when recovering from emotional pain such as a heartbreak, the book is divided in three chapters: grief, rage and acceptance.
From black like grief to white like acceptance, the book contains all the grey shades that are being felt according to the current healing phase.
It was the aim of this project to creatively face the pain of a failed relationship, let it influence the working process and eventually come to terms with it.
